Without a doubt Manolo Sanlúcar is classic in Spanish music and some of his best known tunes make part of this album. It is an album that encompasses lots of feeling, serenity, anguish and positive energy. Although this album has the guitar as the main figure, it is seasoned by very effictive flutes, drums and bass, giving it a modern sound enhanced by Manolo's guitar. Musically, it is a gathering of several genres; it is most imporantly Flamenco although some eclectic influences such as jazz, progressive rock, popular spanish and even Celtic and Arabic musics are present. These are tunes that hook the listener from the very first note. Manolo is a romantic spirit who seeks idealized perfection and believes to have found it in the Andaluz muse. He begins to research and mold his peculiar interpretation and concept of Flamenco music turning little by little not into a priviledged guitarrist but into the creator of techniques. Virtuousity is not the goal for his style, which is always in touch with the improv and spirit of Flamenco music, but it is a means to communicate his emotion. All of the virtues of Flamenco guitar have materialized in his style. He is a musician of the sensitive and vivid people, loyal to his heritage and to the contemporary. As a guitarrist he can be considered classical yet as a composer he is innovative. His artistic sensitivity and precision in concepts and execution allow him to convey with his guitar the deepest feeling of the Andaluz spirit.
