The "Veranos de la Villa" celebrate its 25. anniversary with the aim of "moving the culture closer to the citizens".

Paco de Lucía On June 29. Paco de Lucia will initiate the festival on the Puerta del Angel stage, one of the main stage with the Sabatini Gardens. This event will be introduced by the mayor hiself, Alberto Ruiz Gallardon. The festival bets on the theater, the zarzuela and the movies, but the main course is the music, with the shows of Diana Krall, Marianne Faithfull, ELvis Costello, Youssou N'Dour, Sinead O'Connor or the Portuguese singer Adriana Calcanhotto. This festival is one of the identity sign of the city with an impressive musical offer, but also a lot of dance and theater. The Puerta del Angel stage, the Sabatini Gardens, the different streets and squares of the capital, but also some local and private theaters and live bars will offer some of the 150 shows during July and August.

Miguel Poveda in Los Veranos de La Villa The festival will end on August 22. and it's celebrating its 25. anniversary.This year the festival counts with a budget of 2.7 millions Euros (more or less the same budget than previous editions), for the 161 concerts.  The flamenco will be very present on the main stages. José Mercé, Farruquito or José Meneses will be there. "Madrid is the capital of flamenco" said the singer from Jerez José Mercé. Furthermore we will have the possibility to listen to Diego El Cigala and Miguel Poveda.
